Nouveau Gallery is an application that connects buyers and artists, ensuring the quality and provenance of each artwork. The project aims to build a trusted art marketplace, supporting professional artists and contributing to the promotion of Vietnamese art and culture.
Vietnam's fine art market holds great potential, with a large number of artists and high user demand. However, copyright limitations and plagiarism issues have slowed the market's growth, both domestically and internationally. Transactions often rely on personal connections or galleries, with limited technological integration. The gap between traditional and digital art poses challenges for digital transformation, yet both forms can complement each other to elevate art on a global scale. Recognizing this potential, Nouveau Gallery aims to connect and support both artists and users, bridging the traditional and digital art worlds.
With a history of more than four thousand years of building and defending the country, fine arts have accompanied the Vietnamese people on every path. Vietnam with 54 ethnic groups spread across 63 provinces has created a distinct diversity in art and identity in each region. Vietnam has more than 15 full-time universities providing quality training with a large number of artists produced each year, a large number of products as well as a high demand for artists. The number of paintings and artworks in Vietnam is huge, making this a potential market. However, with limitations from fake paintings, Vietnam's fine art market has not achieved its inherent position. Along with that, the purchase and sale of high-value paintings is not really popular in our country, which has adversely affected the development of this market, but this is still a potential and unique market.
Our project aims to develop a platform for buying and trading artwork, where quality and provenance are verified by brokers and artists. This project not only seeks to generate profit for artists in pursuing and professionalizing their work but also contributes to fostering the market, creating a space for artists, and promoting Vietnamese culture to an international audience.
Observing the post-pandemic trend among Vietnamese consumers, there is a strong focus on spending in areas like home decor, renovation, and savings, which now represent a higher proportion compared to other expenditures such as clothing, travel, or electronics. This suggests that people are seeking valuable assets for long-term investment and protection of their wealth. Meanwhile, in developed countries like the U.S., U.K., and France, art has already become a popular investment asset for collectors. In Vietnam, recent years have seen significant technological advancements and a trend toward integration, allowing us to address legal and copyright barriers more thoroughly and carefully, laying a solid foundation for our project. This project aims to be a valuable platform for those looking to invest in art or simply purchase art to collect, decorate their home, or express themselves.
